How the Voter and Elections Management System Works...
Key Features of the Voter and Elections Management System
USE CASE SPOTLIGHT
RI Department of State
The Rhode Island Secretary of State's 14-year-old election management database was starting to show it's age. With concerns around security and system integrity, as well as the problems associated with maintaining an aging database, Rhode Island elected to make a change in system and vendor.
The State of Rhode Island worked with Stonewall to customize and build the new Central Voter Registration System. The system is a computer database that houses the state's list of registered voters and acts as Rhode Island's candidate management system. Stonewall consulted the Rhode Island Board of Elections and election officials from several communities in build of the new system. Every feature of the new Central Voter Registration System was streamlined for state and local election officials to manage tasks from voter registration to record management. The new system launched in 2019 and was an immediate success.
