Where
did we get our name?
Why
would a technology company be named Stonewall Solutions?
For two reasons:
We like to build technology solutions that will function,
adapt and remain useful for extended periods of time; much
like a well build dry stone wall. A well-built dry-stone
wall will stand intact, without needing repair for hundreds
of years. This is several times the lifespan of a cemented
wall. Dry-stone walls shift and bend in order to conform
to the natural movements of the land, the frost heaves,
the sinkholes, the settlings in the rainy season. A dry
wall that is distorted and bellied and yet still fairly
sturdy has reached "old age."
A poorly built dry wall however “a cowboy wall"
may not last a single winter. The stones may not all tilt
slightly downward, like roof tiles, so that water can drain
out of the wall. The pebbles and rock chips placed in the
wall's center “the hearting" may not be packed
tightly enough, robbing the structure of critical strength.
Cement walls will not reach old age. Cement walls do not
move; they crack, and then they fall.
Likewise a software application must be planned, architected
and developed correctly if it is to provide long term value.
At Stonewall Solutions, we believe that attention to detail
in the scope, design and build of our web applications is
critical to the long term value and satisfaction our customers
will receive from these solutions. Like a well built dry
wall, we design and build our applications for the future…
Secondly,
we do share a keen interest in beautifying the environment;
and hence Stonewall Solutions endeavors to deliver occasional
landscape architecture projects. Our focus in this area
is on delivering quality and creating beauty in an old style
New England setting. Typical Stonewall Solutions projects
include: creation of natural perennial gardens and plantings,
stonescaping, nightscaping, boulder gardens and of course
the build of natural, dry stone walls.
